I am looking forward to it. My goal is more movement and flexibility. Sitting in a normal chair for hours does a number on my knees and isn't great for my posture overall. If nothing else, it means that every time I get up from my chair, I will be lifting ~200 pounds off the floor.
This is the video that mainly inspired me: https://youtu.be/lk6iBopDPgA . Although I am not into minimalism (why do minimalists never have any art on the walls? Don't they have hobbies?) and I don't want to go entirely furniture-free, I really like the idea of having less furniture and more flexible home.
Another reason is for the pets. This way they can snuggle with me while I am working, be in my lap or right next to me, easily be petted, etc. Opal will jump up to my level when I am at my desk, but Serena won't and BUNDOR can't. This way when Serena wants attention she can come snuggle up to me when I am working, and I can let BUNDOR out to play and he can do the same.
Sometimes Serena Pie comes in here when I am working and wants pets, but she won't jump up to my level, so I end up waving one hand around her head level while trying to work with the other, and I think she feels neglected. Also the more pets and attention you can give a bunny, the better.
Another bonus is that the new furniture is much more portable than the old. My old desk chair has wheels and therefore a large footprint. My new one, I can fold up into a cube and stick in the closet. The new desk has folding legs and I can fold it flat and shove it under a bed or sofa. I like compact/portable furniture because it makes a home more flexible.
