I've been using chitosan at every watering for the last week, and misting all the orchids with is daily. The effects are really impressive. I have a phal that has been sitting for months with one single root and growing no others, just getting more and more dehydrated every day. Today it has two new root nubs.

The main effect I see from chitosan is faster, more robust root growth. Chitosan is also supposed to be antifungal and antibacterial, which is imo another reason to use it. Supposedly it has antimicrobial action AND it creates a film over the plant which prevents fungus from taking root and growing.

It's pretty miraculous for orchids. Now I need to find a good CalMag supplement and a silica supplement.
