Today was a good day- I avoided internet for most of the morning (occasionally caught myself and put the phone down.) Instead I followed my plan and got all the tasks done! Hooray! Today was a good day.

Last year I bound a copy of my planner with cardstock, and I had a thinner one, bound using a folder, that I would put one quarter in at a time. It didn't benefit me much at all because I almost never took my planner out of the house. So this year, I decided to just have one binding and keep it all together.

This year I also decided to make a nicer, more durable cover for the planner. I think that when the planner is pretty, I am more likely to enjoy it and engage with it, plus I also enjoyed the process of making the covers. I made the covers from a folder, but I also laminated the covers. I've laminated other things, but when it comes to anything thicker than a sheet of paper, I have found that laminating is unpredictable in terms of how much edge you end up with. I ended up with a much larger edge than I expected. If I had known how large the edge would be, I would have cut the covers smaller before laminating.

My end result is a rather large, bulky planner, even though I replaced the expander rings with medium-size rings. It's just way larger than it was last year than the year before, even though the pages are the same size. I am okay with that, though, because I don't often take it out with me. It's just surprising.

I think this year I am going to add an index to my planner, I thought about doing it last year but did not. But I use my planner to take notes in- and this year I am going to take MORE notes in it, I plan to take it with me to every doctor appt and etc. Aside from an index, I wonder if I need a year at a glance calendar? It seems like a good idea but I don't totally know if I will use it.
