New fence, brain training, etc.

There's a long story for another entry. But this one is just to record that our North fence is back up and for the first time since Harvey I can open my living room blinds and still have privacy.

What's interesting is that I still felt really hesitant and vulnerable when I opened the blinds a few minutes ago. It's been so long since we've had a fence! Even though I knew rationally that the fence was there, I still felt vulnerable. I will get used to the new reality :)

We also have a graded yard now so this week I get to plant things! yay!

Orchids in moss: observations.

Moss: so far, so good. Over the last 10 days or so I have really seen positive effects.

First positive: hydration. The orchids in moss are very well-hydrated. Some of them had a few dehydrated leaves before, especially 6 and 19. those are both visibly more hydrated. This week both of those orchids had a small surge of root growth, too. 6, 19, and a few of the other phals have a sheen to their leaves that was missing before, and that's the sheen of hydration.
